SHOW:
4th
Annual Hot Rods and Harleys Show
Fuddruckers, Lake Forest, CA, October 15,
2005
The
Fundraiser Show
The Orange County Rescue Mission and Monica from the Village
of Hope have created a great little event to help support
the programs and services for homeless people in Orange
County. This year the event was held at Fuddruckers in Lake
Forest. Fuddruckers also has a weekly show that has grown
through their vast parking lot every Tuesday evening.
This
show was a bit smaller than previous years. There was a
lot of show in October. Each trying to get a handful of
the dwindling car-show enthusiasts to come out and show
off their pride and joys.
Not
to say this wasn't a good show there were great vehicles
there from a vintage forestry fire-truck to Ol' Skool hot
rods, to vintage drag racers and even the Bat Boat!
The
bikes were pretty thin. Only a couple of Harleys mixed with
Road Stars and a Titan chopper.
The
awards were wonderful eagle sculptures. They were on display
at a table which at first glance I thought it was a vendor
booth for an artist. My bike won 2nd place award sponsored
by Vision Motorsports. This brings me to my rant. I very
much appreciate the award and the first place bike was very
nice, but I think they should change the name to Hot Rods
and Bikes, since a Road Star won the first place award.
This
year's band was the Melvin Eddy Blues Band. They soothed
the air with a great variety of Blues and Rock between raffle
sets and announcements.
