CRUISIN' FOR ABUSED
KIDS
Newport Mesa Church,
Costa Mesa, CA, October 01, 2005
Cont'd.
Chuck and Judy Forbes cruised in with this 55 150 "Businessman's
Sedan. Like my 56 Fairlane it has no back seat. The businessmans
sedan came without the seat to throw samples, briefcases,
etc in the back. This car is 50 years old and runs like
new with a stroker 396 machined and assembled at Orange
Engine with a 700R4 tranny and Currie rearend. The power
flows from a Holly HP 830 carb through Edelbrock intake,
and out Rewarder Headers and through the Flowmaster exhaust.
The American Racing Torq Thrust IIS stop via ABS Brakes.
Automobile Paint Specialties shot the PPG Graphite Gray
and VanDemon burned the flames.
John
Rubright's 50 Stude Commander Convertible was first spotted
by Car-Shows.com staff at the Brea Sundays Show back in
02. Here looking as good as ever is this most incredible
piece of rolling art. Ed Duffy of Duffy Enterprises in Costa
Mesa built the car with the Chevy 355 AFR 190 heads, and
Holley 750 built by Scott Jones of The Corvette Shop in
Costa Mesa running the rpms up to the 700R4 trany built
by Dave Dibs and out to a Currie Ford 9" 3.89 gears
positraction, disc brakes and Air Ride suspension. TCI front
air spring suspension keeps the car at the right height
and upholstery and top done by Augie at Costa Mesa Auto
Upholstery.
