SHOW:
SANTA ANA'S 30TH ANNUAL
ANTIQUE AND CLASSIC CAR SHOW
Portola Park, August 13th. 2005
Classic
Cars on Grass.
Twist on up for me! I liked this show. There was a great
mix of cars spread out on the lawn at Portola Park. I cruised
up in my '56 Fairlane and parked on the grass next to the
sidewalk which ran the length of the show.
They
had it sectioned off with different rides, but they didn't
enforce it too much. There was a Deuce next to an old Packard,
a 70's era El Camino with the pair of '60 Thunderbirds.
One of the Thunderbirds had a rare original sunroof with
a whistle bar.
Other
cars to note included a pretty cool completely designed
blue and white VW Bug with all the trimmings. See it on
page 05. Also on page 05: is a down in the weeds, chopped
up home-built roadster that the couple drove down from the
Inland Empire for the show they read about in our show listings
page.
There
was a good representation of the Old Style Club in Orange
County there with their lowriders and classics. They were
set up to have a nice BBQ today.
Check
out the pics and if you are around in August of next year
be sure to look this show up.
