Lakewood
Elks Car-Show
Hawaiian Gardens, CA - July 30, 2005
Great
Start for a Good Cause.
Dan greeted me in the back lot of the Lakewood Elks Lodge
off Carson St. in Hawaiian Gardens. The glint of chrome
sparkled throughout the lot a we talked about the Elks organization
and the scholarships, events and services. This tight yellow
Malibu rumbled passed us as we spoke about the two 240Z's
and the power they put out. In the background they are raffling
off some prizes from the stage and there was a booth of
fresh home-made cakes and pastries.
A good
start as their first annual event which Dan budgeted himself
on. There were about 50 cars when I was there and it was
good eclectic group. Lowriders, Classics, Muscle Cars and
Customs were present. Note the 1919 Truck by Dick Van. You
will see more of that awesome candy orange beast as a feature
vehicle.
