SHOW:
LA ROADSTERS' SHOW
Pomona, CA
Bright
sunny day and more deuces than any sane person needs to
see.
My
buddy Dave from Chevy High Performance Magazine and I cruised
to the show in my '56 Fairlane and spent a good several
hours in the sun looking at an estimated 1000 rods, customs
and classics. And that was in the show! There were another
several hundred cars in the car-corral/swap meet of equal
caliber. And in the spectator lot there were some pretty
cheeky rides including the late model mini-truck with a
signed airbrushed portrait of Gwen Stefani (check it out
on page 15).
Page
02 features Tom Pagano's 27 Roadster pickup with incredible
detail and a patented steering linkage system. On page 05
is a mid-engine roadster pick-up with a hydraulic body lift
to show off the custom chassis which includes coolant pumped
through to the engine. On page 06 is a couple of long distance
travellers with matching trailers. Page 07 has an awesome
bronze roadster with great detail in pinstriping and a rod
with a big "Snap-Off" wrench as a back bumper.
Don't miss the wood and aluminum roadster on page 08. Page
09 has this incredible long-body roadster with a trick chassis.
Page 10 begins the vendor cars and car-corral as we ventured
out of the show. Check out the dual blown 5 window on page
12. Also on page 12 is a black rod truck with red flames
and and red/white striped tonneau and top. I saw it again
the next week at the Hells Angels Freed'em rally at Irvine
Lake. Check out www.Bike-Shows.com
after July 15th for more pics from the rally. Page 13 starts
off with my favorite bumber sticker "Avoid the Boyd"
there is also a brown fordor with a bomber pin-up graphic
featuring an eight-ball bikini top, a 20-something Mail
Truck and an awesome chop on a '59 chevy bubble top. Page
14 is the 8's and Aces purple, white and lime green 5 window.
Topping off page 15 is an awesome 40 Ford Truck.
If
you love deuces and rods have fun rolling through these
