The balanced crank was cleaned and re-milled for the new bearings.

The cylinders were milled to give new surface clearances.

Installing the like new pistons.

Time to put it all back together. Jerry, like most engine builders use clear silicone sealant around the intake manifold.

If not Elimidate, then it's WWE wrestling with Hulk Hogan on the tele above the fridge.

Like-new "Old Ford" blue paint. These 390's were originally painted orange, but I wanted the old-school blue to bling the engine compartment.

Feeling the compression with a finger in the spark plug hole and cranking the motor with a ratchet. It's like feeling a heartbeat when performing CPR.

Getting it back in the engine compartment where it belongs is a bit of a bear. It took Jerry 4 hours to maneuver it around the front-end. He had to put a header on before going in.

Here it is all put back together. Mattson's Radiator re-cored and powder-coated the radiator. With a bit of luck and some time at Napa Auto Parts I was able to find just the right top hose to fit the original radiator to the implant 390. It had an in-efficient flexible hose.

Jerry found this old book in his shop. It was invaluable in sourcing clearance tolerances and firing order.

The secret codes to ensure a smooth running engine.

Another shot of the engine compartment.
