Dagel's
Street Rods
One
of the shops that was on Overhaulin'
was Dagels Street Rods. They built
the Cherry Nova. Gary Dagel is one down
to earth dude. He said if they asked him
again to do a show, he would have to decline.
He has gotten so busy that they can't afford
the time. I could have hung out with him
for hours. They were moving some cars around
to make room for another awesome ride. I
know how hard it is just moving my 4 cars
and motorcycle around my garage and driveway.
Imagine the logistics of moving around a
couple of dozen cars in and out of your
shop.
Gary
is from Montana and admits to moving to
California for a healthier business climate.
He has a drive to succeed and have fun doing
it. Apparently the small town in Montana
that he is from isn't kind to those who
do well. I must say it is good to have him
here. His work ethic is unparalleled and
he is very modest about the success that
he has had. As we talked about his favorite
type of client I can understand exactly
what he means. Gary appreciates a client
who may not know a bunch about cars and
trusts Gary to interpret a style best for
them. He has proven to be able to do
that with the work he has done recently.
His daughter runs the store out front where
they sell their signature cross-member for
Model A frames. They also have this small
aquarium with this big gold fish that Gary
has trained to come to him.
