Kustom Kulture Kraziness!

On
the same day that tens of thousands of people
swarmed Long Beach for Jesse James' West Coast
Choppers' open house, die hard hot-rod purists
made there way down the 405 to Jacks Lowrodders
in Fountain Valley. Sure there were lots of
Trailer Queen Bikes and Cars near the Queen
Mary, but the free dogs and beer at Jacks
Lowrodders, brought their loyal fans to hear
some good garage band music and mix it up
with other gear-heads.
What's
been recently coined as Rat Rods, Jacks Lowrodders
has been building Rotten Rods and Twisted
Sleds since a group of kids formed the club
Nasty Jacks, named after one of their member's
smelly old dog Jack.
Headed
up by Matt Wilfert, who teaches HS Auto Shop,
the garage has transformed the Southern California
Kustom Kulture scene by bringing the old school
metal bangin' art of hot rodding to the kids
of today. Not satisfied with the point-and-click
world, these 'utes' love to get their fingers
dirty and proudly wear their honor on scrubby
jeans.
The
shop is run by Will, whose old Red Coffee
Boys truck parks out front. His duty is to
proficiently keep the masters of metal, Brandon,
Matt the Rat and others busy with chopping
tops, channelling bodys, and boxing frames
all day long. Will invites everyone to stop
by anytime to see their latest creations.
"...you don't have to wait for our annual
open-house and car-show to see the craziness."
With a mix of house paint and metal flake,
there are coupes, sedans, trucks, and even
a hearse at their shop any given time.
